PHP 4 壽命已近

PHP 官方今天正式公告了 PHP4 將在年底停止開發。這應該算是個好消息吧，算一算 PHP5 釋出已經三、四年了，到現在很多主機還是只用 PHP4，導致 PHP 程式人員不得不使用相容 PHP4 的寫法，現在 PHP4 壽命終止，可以讓更多人真正進入 PHP5 的世界，使 PHP 社群更進一步。

Today it is exactly three years ago since PHP 5 has been released. In those three years it has seen many improvements over PHP 4. PHP 5 is fast, stable & production-ready and as PHP 6 is on the way, PHP 4 will be discontinued.

The PHP development team hereby announces that support for PHP 4 will continue until the end of this year only. After 2007-12-31 there will be no more releases of PHP 4.4. We will continue to make critical security fixes available on a case-by-case basis until 2008-08-08. Please use the rest of this year to make your application suitable to run on PHP 5.
